المستخلص

This study seeks to analyze the discourse issued by the ex-American President Donald Trump about the deal of the century. The study analyzes the reaction of two electronic newspapers towards this deal namely Al-Jazeera and Sky-news through systemic functional grammar (SFG) (Halliday, 2014). The deal of the century is a peace proposal or plan aiming at resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, prepared by the United States ex-President Donald Trump. The deal guarantees the annexation of the huge settlement blocks in the West Bank to the State of Israel. Thereby, the city of Jerusalem remains united and under Israeli sovereignty. This study examines the relationship between the experiential meaning and the discourse of the deal of the century and its importance in discourse analysis. The study adopts a qualitative-descriptive approach. Data is collected from the abovementioned two electronic newspapers. The research concludes that there are some forms of ridicule and threat through transitivity, which adopts approximately six processes listed in this research.
